Shane thomas was born july 12th 2010 weighing 4 pounds 9 ounces he scored very well on his apgar test and was said to completely healthy due to low weight he spent four days in the hospital and was sent home on july 22nd he turned very blue and was gasping for air i rushed him to the hospital where it was determined he had an o2 level of only 68 he was placed on oxygen and airlifted to ou childrens hospital within hours it was determined he had tetralogy of fallot (tof) with an extra whole and severe pulmonary stetnosis due to not being treated right away...5 days later shane went in for his first open heart surgery 6 hours later we got the news it was a success ...shane spent 2-3 weeks in the icu and was takin off and placed back on the vent 3 times and had to be brought back to lofe twice after lots of testing and an echo we found out he was drowing in his own blood and needed another procedure and the next day went in he was in icu for a few more days and after a month long stay was finally able to go home!! On dec 17th 2010 he had his full repair that went amazing however it has already failed and he remains in congestive heart failure awaiting pulmonary valve replacement along with shanes heart problems he was born with a brain bleed and suffers from constant headaches and has a swollen kidney that is being watched! He is now three and the middle child of an older brother and younger brother who are both heart healthy!
